*This week we are learning about E for Emergency and 911. As we discuss this topic at school please be sure to answer any questions your child may have with short but honest responses. We will be discussing what an emergency is, when it is the right time to call for help, and how to dial 911 in an emergency situation. Please keep an eye on your real phones at home, as stated in our newsletter, I wouldn't want any surprise visits from your local police officers! We will be practicing how to dial 911 on pretend phones at school and making one during project time for your child to take home. As a lot of families are transitioning from land lines to cell phones, and we encourage everyone to practice this important skill with your child using whichever type of phone you have at home.

*We will be spending more time on the carpet during Free Play to practice writing our letters and our names! Thank you for taking the time to practice these skills at home as your children sign their Valentine's. They will be so proud of their hard work!

*Our shape books are almost finished and will be put together soon. These will go home probably by the end of the month. We will have Miss Margo with us on Thursday as she introduces another fun-filled gymnastics routine!

*Our fundraiser money is due on Thursday! Please do not forget to hand these in to Mrs. Blake or myself. Also, if anyone would like to volunteer to come and speak to our morning and afternoon classes about a specific job that they might do please let me know! If you have any questions about this feel free to ask!
