Week of February 7-9, 2012

The post office was a big hit last week and we will continue to keep our mailboxes busy this week by making lots of Valentines. We will have red, white and pink construction paper, doilies, glitter, feathers and flowers galore along with all kinds of heart tracers and stencils available to make spectacular Valentines. Be sure to ask your child for a fancy Valentine card this week. We will also have fun playing Conversation Heart Valentine Bingo and fitting broken heart puzzle pieces together to match words to their beginning sound.

No need to worry about eating a little bit of Valentine Chocolate or candy, because we added a new routine to our circle time last week--we have begun counting to 100! This is not only a cognitive work out, but a physical one too!

Don't forget to start signing those Valentine's this week to distribute next Tuesday at our Valentine's Day Party. Please leave the envelopes unaddressed to make distribution easy peasy and do try to insist your child sign their name the "big kid way." If you plan on attaching treats, please be mindful of our nut-free policy as well as the red dye allergy in our morning class. We have 12 children in the morning section and 14 children in the afternoon.
